Different pigment molecules have different sizes and different chemical stability, so parts of the mixture disappear faster than others.
What you see in the mirror years later is not the original blend. It is whatever fraction of it resisted clearing the longest. That single fact explains grey brows, blue brows, green brows, and red brows. They are the same process running in different directions, depending on which part of the mixture happened to be the most stubborn on your skin.
Why Microblading Turns Grey, Ashy, or Blue
Cool results usually come from one of two overlapping causes.
The first is chemistry. In many pigment formulations the warmer components, the reds and yellows, clear faster than the cooler base tones. As those warm elements drop out first, what remains is a flatter, cooler residue that reads as grey or ashy rather than brown.

It Is Not Only Color: Shape Usually Needs Work Too

The Fix: How Brow Color Correction Actually Works
Color correction runs on the same color wheel logic used in makeup and design generally. Complementary colors neutralize each other. An orange based corrector counteracts blue, grey, and ashy tones. When You Need Lightening or Saline Removal First
If your brows are still fairly dark, dense, or oversaturated, lightening comes before correction. How Long Does Microblading Color Correction Take?
A realistic sequence looks like this:

• A correction session using the appropriate neutralizing tone, followed by rebuilt color and shape
• A perfection visit four to eight weeks later to refine the healed result

What Not to Do While You Wait
• Do not try to remove pigment at home. Scrubbing, home removal products, and picking at the area cause scarring, risk infection, and can push pigment deeper, which makes professional correction harder and longer.
